About Rich

Rich headshotI have been working in the creative industries for a pretty long time now. After completing a degree in video production in the early ‘naughties’, I went on to set up a video production company which I ran for many years. It was during this time that I met Sam for the first time, after she got in touch to hire me to produce her acting showreel.

On that fateful (cough) day back in 2005, we’d arranged for me to pop round and collect all her source material, an appointment which would have ordinarily lasted a few minutes, with maybe a cuppa thrown in. However our meeting ended up lasting for 7 hours straight! We found we got on like a house on fire, and immediately realised we were kindred spirits. There and then, we knew we were ‘besties’ for life.

Sam in fact was the driving force of me moving away from video production into the realm of voiceovers. With her having done several voiceovers previously, & with me wanting a different pace of life from the silly early starts and long drives world of video production, she encouraged me to push forward with making the change, & becoming a voiceover artist. Ten years on, and I can safely say she was right!

Over the years, I’ve managed to accrue a healthy client list as a voice over artist, producing material for some of the world’s biggest brands, in a variety of media; radio and TV ads, on hold messaging for phone systems, & corporate promo and explainer videos. I’ve even been the voice of a series of kids toys for JCB!

Anyway, enough about all that, otherwise we’ll have Michael Aspel walking in with a big red folder…

Sam and I have collaborated on all sorts of (often highly random) projects over the last 12+ years of knowing each other, and our combined skills and experience amount to something really quite special, and indeed, I think, unique.

It was only recently when the penny finally dropped, where we realised that if we combined all our various skills and talents into one central offering, it could be something of massive value to all sorts of people. Hence, Happy Content Co. was born. And thus starts a very exciting new chapter in both our lives!

I currently act as chief visuals wizard for Jangeer Kayani of Star Consultancy & Training whose company is involved in safeguarding against radicalisation and extremism.

Business Networking is also a big part of my life, being the founder and co-organiser of Brummies Networking in Birmingham City Centre, a free networking group running monthly networking events. Attracting on average 75+ attendees every month, it has over the years (having been told by our members) become one of the premier business networking events in the Midlands.
